There’s plenty of talk about how organic foods help you lose weight, eat healthier, feel better, taste better, and so on. But does organic food really help MEN lose weight?
Men’s Health Magazine editor Matt Bean went onThe Early Show on CBS to talk to Harry Smith about eating organic foods, and why it’s especially important for men.
“Organic foods are better for everyone, including men, because they’re higher in the stuff that you need, whether it’s vitamins or antioxidants” said Bean. “And they’re lower in the stuff you don’t need. Hormones, which can cause prostate cancer, as well as things that can reduce your fertility. So it’s an important thing for both men and women to keep in mind.”
Bean went on to explain how various kinds of foods, such as meats and poultry, that are ORGANIC are healthier than their conventional counterparts. “If you’re eating regular old beef, it’s been feeding from the livestock equivalent of a vending machine.” YIKES! “Cows that are organic are healthier because they’re higher in omega-3 fatty acids, which is hearth healthy.”
