Border

For some of us, a big diet/health obstacle is the dreaded sweet tooth! It’s easy to forget that there are healthful sweetener alternatives to refined sugar. Consider: Agave nectar – sometimes called agave syrup – most often produced from the Blue Agaves from Southern Mexico, is a delicious sugar substitute that is good for you!

Health Benefits

Agave is more slowly absorbed than is refined white sugar (which often causes weight loss sabotage). Agave’s sweetness comes from the sugar that is found naturally in fruits and vegetables. So, agave does not give you that quick blood sugar high, then terrible crash that refined sugar is known to give.  Agave also contains ingredients to help the body absorb nutrients and to improve our immune system. Agave can also help reduce cholesterol, reduce fat absorption, and have anti-inflammatory effects.

A Sweet Change

Reduce calories, get health benefits, and satisfy your sweet tooth with our %100 Organic Premium Raw Blue Agave Necter – 1.4 times sweeter than refined sugar, so you don’t need to use as much. By making this one sugar substitution, you are saving yourself from unneeded calories: 1 Teaspoon of Organic Liaison’s agave nectar contains 20 calories and is considered a calorically FREE, and guilt FREE food (any food less than 25 calories is a FREE food); one teaspoon is a perfect amount to add to your Rescue Me mixture, your cup of tea with added Release Me, or to your high fiber cereal. Does this Agave nectar have a taste? Also, is it ok for a diabetic?

    Becky,

Agave Nectar is less viscous than honey and tastes like a cross between honey and maple syrup. (In our Rescue Me Elixir, the taste is not noticeable). Yes, our program is suitable for people with Diabetes. Still, we recommend that you consult with your physician before undergoing a weight loss program. Please email our Health Director (olhealthdirector@organicliaison.com) for the complete product ingredients list so that you can go over it with your MD.

OL is a lifestyle based program suitable for people with Diabetes since it promotes weight loss and encourages eating habits to keep your sugar levels stabilized. OL guides you to eat smaller meals (high fiber and low fat foods) more often and exercise regularly.

Organic Liaison Rescue Me weight loss elixir is the only product that has carbohydrates in it; it also contains 3 grams of fiber, which helps stabilize sugar levels stabilized. 1 capful contains 10 grams of sugar, mostly from organic fruit juice, and a minute amount of agave nectar, which your body absorbs less quickly. We suggest you split the recommended amount of Rescue Me, drink half in the morning (sipping throughout the morning) and half in the afternoon (sipping throughout the rest of the day and finishing before dinner). Then you will only get 5 grams of carbohydrate per serving, which makes this a Free Food according to the Diabetic Exchange List.

If you have any other questions, our Health Director would be happy to help!
